Katrina Heisler is a lifelong artist inspired by the beauty and contradictions inherent in the skylines, people, and places of New England. Oil paint is her primary medium, but she has also worked in pencil, acrylic paint, and digital photography. She enjoys playing with the contrast of light and dark as she explores themes of reverence, simplicity, and beauty hidden in plain sight. She is based in Haverhill, Massachusetts.
Katrina earned an associate degree in graphic design at Northern Essex Community College, completed coursework at MassArt, and has sold several commissioned paintings for private collections. She also takes portrait photography of children. Many of these photographs have served as muses for her oil paintings. Katrina is currently developing several bodies of work, including: Skylines, Portraits of Our Children, and Objects of Affection, a still-life series.
